Denarau Island

Denarau Island is 11 kilometres south and 20 minutes from Nadi Airport. A tourist hot spot, it features world-class resorts. The newly extended Port Denarau Marina and Shopping complex, offers a range of great shopping, and fantastic dining establishments, including the world famous Hard Rock Cafe, as well as superb yachting facilities. The Port is also the departure point for connections to the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. For the golfers there is the international standard 18-hole championship golf course at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club.

Coral Coast

Fijian Islands

Fiji Transfers & Getting Around

There are many transfer options available in Fiji. In many cases, they add to the overall fun and experience of your Fiji holiday. Viva! Holidays can arrange transportation to and from your hotel, island resort or cruise. Transfer options vary depending on your itinerary.

Ground Transfers

Tourist transport Fiji has an office in the arrivals concourse of Nadi International Airport and its friendly staff will be on hand to welcome you upon arrival.

  • Coach transfers: Seat-in-vehicle transfers on the mainland of Veti Levu are in comfortable air-conditioned coaches. These journeys may make stops at selected hotels en route to your final destination.
  • Express coach transfers: An express seat-in-coach service which meets selected flights to/from Australia is recommended from Nadi Airport to Shangri-La's Fijian Resort and Spa, Outrigger on teh Lagoon, The Naviti Resort and Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa, offering a time saving service at an affordable price.
  • Private car transfers: We recommend private car transfers for direct transportation to mainland destinations. These cars are air-conditioned providing maximum comfort for longer journeys.

Domestic Flights

Fiji Link, Fiji Airway's domestic air service carrier, operates flights within the Fiji Islands. From its base at Nadi Airport, Pacific Sun has domestic routes to Suva, Kadavu in the south, Savusavu and Labasa on Vanua Levu island in the north, and Taveuni (also in the north). In addition, short trips out to Mana Island and Plantation Island are also on the regular scheduled services.

Important information: Luggage limit is 15kg per person, excess baggage charges will apply; helicopters do not operate to a specific schedule and are applicable to daylight services only; actual times will be confirmed following your arrival in Fiji; a minimum of two passengers is required to operate these services.

Mamanuca Express

Mamanuca Express offers a 24 hour water taxi service between Port Denarau Marina and all resorts in the Mamanuca and lower Yasawa Islands in Fiji. Speedboat Transfers

Please be at Port Denarau passenger terminal by at least 8.00am. If you are using the complimentary coach from your accomodation to Port Denarau, you will arrive on time for check-in.

Mamanuca Islands Transfers

Check in is at Denarau Marina 30 minutes prior to departure. Since the check in time at most resorts is between midday and 2pm we recommend arriving guests have a leisurely start to their day and catch the mid-afternoon departures. You are on holiday after all! These departures are generally less crowded and will save you waiting around for your room to become available upon arrival at your resort.

Hertz Car Hire

Conditions of hire

  • Duration of hire: Minimum hire period is one day
  • Driver qualifications: All drivers must be 21 years of age or over with a minimum of three years’ driving experience
  • Deposits: All rentals are subject to a damage excess of F$3000 for groups B, C, J and F$5000 for groups D, F, G, K and L which is to be paid at commencement of each hire by cash or credit card imprint and will be refunded in full, subject to non-involvement in an accident or damage to the car
  • One-way rentals are permitted, ask for details

Included insurance

  • Loss Damage Waiver Insurance: subject to damage excess, this insurance removes all additional financial responsibility for damage to the car as long as the terms of the rental agreement are not violated
  • Optional insurance: Hertz has a number of optional insurance packages available at time of hire to reduce damage excess or personal liability. These are payable direct. You should also check what is covered by your travel insurance policy.
  • Mandatory costs payable in Fiji: Fuel and airport charges


  • Two depots at Nadi International Airport, and Suva. A delivery fee applies to pick-ups or deliveries outside Nadi or Suva on rentals of two days or less. This is payable direct.
  • Optional: child seats are approximately F$10 per day, must be pre-booked and is payable on collection of your vehicle.
