Thailand has over 26,000 temples or wats (local name). Visit three of the most distinguished temples in Bangkok. Start with Wat Trimitr, the temple of the Golden Buddha, containing a statue made from solid gold weighing 51 tonnes, a fine example of Sukhothai art. Passing through Chinatown your next stop is Wat Po, the temple of the reclining Buddha, the largest and oldest in Bangkok. Your last stop is at Wat Benchamabopit or the marble temple. This magnificent monastery was built with white Italian marble from Carrara.

Grand Palace Tour

Visit the Grand Palace complex, which includes the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Keow), unquestionably one of the Wonders of the World today. Within its enormous grounds is the most exotic Buddhist temple. At the heart of the temple itself is a fabulous Buddha statue, carved from one piece of jade, which is the holiest and most revered of religious objects in Thailand today. Nearby is the Grand Palace, once the official home of the kings of Siam. You will also visit the Royal Funeral Hall and the Royal Coronation Hall.

Rice Barge Cruise

This relaxed afternoon tour allows you to experience the timeless world of ‘the Venice of the East’. In Bangkok, people still depend on the waterways to transport their products, in particular rice, as the canals are linked to the rice fields. Cruise by longtailed boat through exotic flora and picturesque canal houses. Midway, join the converted rice barge. All you need to do is sit back, relax and take in the scenery. Soft drinks and local fruits are served on board.

Baipai Thai Cooking School

While visiting Thailand, there is no better way to learn Thai cooking than from its origins. Baipai Thai Cooking School is an ideal home-style learning environment that is different from most of the hotels and restaurants in Thailand. Spend half a day in the morning to learn the preparation of four authentic Thai dishes. Conducted in English, this is a real hands-on experience and should not be missed. No cooking skills are required.

Bridge on the River Kwai

The Kanchanaburi province is quite stunning with sugar cane, rice paddies and pineapple plantations. The famous bridge and the beginning of the Death Railway lies 2 kms outside town. Visit one of the Allied War Grave cemeteries before visiting the JEATH War Museum. An exhilarating long-tailed speedboat ride will take you down river to the famous bridge itself. A ride on a local train is also included before returning to Bangkok city.

Floating Markets and Rose Garden

Commence with a leisurely drive through the rural outskirts of Bangkok before boarding a long-tailed boat to the market area of Damnern Saduak, to see the traditional floating markets used by local merchants. After lunch at the Rose Garden, be treated to a Thai village show which includes cultural activities, a wedding ceremony, Thai dancing, an elephant show and a whole host of other activities. Lunch is included.

Ayutthaya - Ancient Capital of Thailand

Visit Thailand’s ancient capital, travelling through rural countryside by coach and returning by boat. Ayutthaya houses some of the most spectacular ancient temples, some of which are still quite intact, such as the bronze statues of Wat Chai Mongkol and Wat Panangcherng. You will also see the summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architecture.
